Frequently asked questions to the S&T

If you have to let your local know of a change of address call the S&T. If you have been working in the Southwest boards out of San Antonio and want to transfer to the UTU Local 756 call the S&T. If you need to know how much job insurance you have with the UTU call the S&T. If you need to buy or increase your job insurance call the S&T. If you are having any problems with what is being deducted out of your check call the S&T. All bills that need to be paid by the local should be sent to the S&T.

If you are a new hire or a member of the BLET and wish to be a member of the UTU, fill out this form on your computer, print it out and mail to Mike Araujo at the address above. The Local number you are applying to is 756. The General Committee of Adjustment number is 927 and the LCA adjustment number is 927 if you are an Engineer, 927A if you are a trainman working in Laredo, or 927B if you are a trainman working in the Southwest area out of San Antonio. If you are not sure leave it blank and Mike will fill out the blanks.

Fill out this application if you have been suspended from the UTU for non payment of dues.

Authorization for Dues Deduction
Fill out this authorization and mail along with your application for membership or your application for readmission.

UTU Discipline / Income Protection Program
If you don't have any Job Insurance use this application to apply for Job Insurance. You don't have to buy Job Insurance to be a member of the UTU, but we do recommend you buy it because members get fired all the time. To buy UTU Job Insurance you must be a member of the UTU.

Use this claim form if you get fired and have UTU Job Insurance.

UTU Political Action Committee Pledge Form
Use this form to contribute to the UTU Political Action Committee. It is not required to be a member of the UTU.

Letter to transfer out of BLET
Use this letter to drop out of the BLET. You can send it to Mike along with your application and I will forward it to the S&T of the BLET.

E-49 Form
Use this form to request relief from paying dues and job insurance premiums. If you did not work at all in a calander month you can request to be put in E-49 status. Example: If you do not work a single day in the month of July, then you can be put in E-49 status for the month of August. The form must be filled out and mailed to S&T before the 10th of the month.
